Platestahl Spoof Email

Today we received an email from…ourselves.

It asserts that our email has been held in a queue and that we must click on the link to confirm that our request to send the email is legitimate.

Fortunately we were on the ball and realized that when we send emails they’re sent immediately with no queuing or moderation. It turns out someone had spoofed our email address.

The other thing to note is that the web address is not what it presents itself as. The first url you see is what it is pretending to be, while the second url (platestahl.com) is the uncloaked url that we’re actually being directed to.

We’re not quite sure what it is because we try not to click on links that try to trick people into clicking on them, and we suggest you do the same as us.

If you receive a similar email, delete it straight away.
